Stop conditions

Cracking, leakage, swelling, severe corrosion affecting integrity, overheating, freezing damage, known internal faults or manufacturer instructions against service are strong reasons not to attempt DIY recovery.

Reliability matters

A battery that briefly accepts charge but repeatedly fails under normal use may still be unsuitable for a reliability-critical application.
